Michael Ray is a Two-Sport All-American in high school. He holds the New Jersey freshman state record in the 100m which was previously held by Carl Lewis. Michael Ray was a U.S Army All-American in 2005. He had a total of 55 scholarships split between football and track. He chose Florida State University. Michael Ray is a 7-time Track & Field All-American. He also won 3 National Championships in Track & Field at Florida State. While at FSU, Michael Ray broke 3 kick off return records and was the #1 kick returner in the nation in 2008.
Michael Ray ran the fastest 40 yd dash time in the 2009 NFL Draft. His times were 4.18 & 4.22 which were converted to 4.24 & 4.28 as his official times. He was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Arizona Cardinals. After his knee injury he was later picked up by the Detroit Lions. Michael Ray was later released in 2010 and played a season in the United Football League. In 2011, Michael Ray competed in the BMW USATF National Indoor Championships 60 meter and ran a time of 6.63. His personal bests in track: 60m 6.59/ 100m 10.10 / 200m 20.58 / 400m 46.61.
